About

Hi, I'm Syd.

"I'm not here just to snap a few pics and call it good. I'm here to serve in capacities beyond the camera."

I'm a photographer based in Southern Utah with a huge passion and excitement for capturing your best moments. Whether it's a wedding day, a senior session, or a portrait for your brand, my job is to make sure you walk away with images that actually feel like you — not just another set of photos headed for a camera roll you'll never scroll back through.

I was named after my grandmother — Marlene is my middle name — and I come from a family that takes preserving memories seriously. My grandparents are genealogy specialists who've spent years piecing together our family's history, and I think that's where my love of holding onto moments really comes from. Photography, to me, is just the modern version of what they've always done.

I grew up one of four siblings, riding horses and listening to more George Strait than most people would admit to. I still play piano and spent years singing in choirs, so if you book a session with me, don't be surprised if I bring a speaker along — good music makes for good photos. Off the clock you'll find me deciding between Tex-Mex and Italian (it's always a close call) or hosting a movie night that requires both popcorn and peanut butter M&Ms.

Major milestones deserve more than a quick photo — they deserve someone who's genuinely invested in telling your story well. That's what I'm here for.
